Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba said on Monday that teammate Neymar remains at the Camp Nou until proven otherwise, as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) continue their pursuit of the Brazilian.
Talking to reporters, the 28-year-old said that Barca players are calm regarding the #Neymar saga, and the player stays at the club until a concrete agreement is established between both parties.
“Neymar is a Barcelona player until proven otherwise; he’s relaxed. There is a lot of talk about all this, but we are calm about the situation in the dressing room. He’s really happy here,” he said.
Earlier this week, Barca defender Gerard Pique uploaded a picture with Neymar on Twitter adding the caption “he stays”, and when asked about it, Alba prompted the reporters to question Pique about his social media activities.
“You have to ask Pique about that. I cannot tell you anything about the post because I don’t know if they’ve spoken about it. I don’t think it’s a joke, I hope not,” said the Spanish national.
Alba further added that each person has the right to choose for himself or she and he would refrain from tangling himself into club matters but hopes that Neymar stays at Barca for years.
“Each person knows what they want and it’s not for me to convince anyone. Everyone makes his or her own decisions. I won’t get involved, but we hope to have him here for many years,” said Alba.
