Huercal Overa Vs Pinatar
Top Row L-R: Isma, Miras, Manzano, Carmona, Alex, Oscar. Bottom L-R: Moreno, Lloris(c), Linares, Casado, Ramos

Another first day fixture away for the lads from Huercal-Overa, but they will hope that following the success of last season that this will in turn prove to be another for the history books. With no less than five different faces in the starting line up from the final game of last year the away following didn’t really know what to expect. A solid start for Juanma Hoyos Blancos lads saw lightening left winger Carmona on the ball early in the game taking some nice touches and moving the ball about very well. It was that man Carmona who created the first chance of the game after only six minutes sending through Raul Ramos only for the Almeria B loanee to pull up with a muscle strain.

It wasn’t long before the away side made some pressure count as “Moreno” slotted home from 18 yards out past Manu Vidal in the Pinatar nets.

The game then settled after the goal with both sides struggling to keep possession, but Huercal-Overa were gettingthe better chances created down the left with Carmona firing in some great crosses for Tabala and Casado but both unable to find the net and the sides went in at 0-1.

After the break the home side came out with a bit more punch and started to create more & more but still unable to find a way past Isma. As the game moved in to the final minutes Carmona broke away down the left beating the offside trap and with the keeper trying to cover his post the winger crossed into the 6 yard box where veteran Alex tapped home to make it 2…

All in all a good start to the campaign for Los Rojos of Huercal-Overa, some good signings over the summer including young striker Casado who will get around defenders and make a nuisance of himself. Add to that the creative guile of Oscar Fonria in the centre of the park who can spot a pass and turn on a sixpence. Also welcoming back Selu and Dani “Roy of the Rovers” Barilles (Barilles is out injured but hopefully back in training soon.

The club are hoping to complete the signing of “Lass” Emmanuel Gomis Mendy from FK Daugava Rīga in the top flight of Latvian football, “Lass” spent 4 years at Liverpool U21s playing alongside Jon Flanagan, Jay Spearing and Daniel Pacheco.

The next two fixtures are at home for Huercal-Overa with the first being Plus Ultra on Sunday the 6th September and the following week Nueva Vanguardia both times and dates are subject to confirmation, season tickets will be available at the games.
