17-year-old Brazilian wonder kid Alan to sign for Real Madrid and join their group of young stars and sources close to the La Liga giants say a deal has been done for the end of this season.

The Sao Paulo born teenager, full name Alan Souza, currently plays for Palmeiras and for Brazil Under 17s.

Diario AS claim he will sign in 2018 and play for Madrid’s B team ‘Real Madrid Castilla’ next season.

If the signing does take place it continues Real Madrid’s dramatic swing towards recruiting young players as opposed to ready-made stars.

Directors at the Bernabeu believe that while Barcelona continues to try to sign £120million-rated Coutinho from Liverpool they have the next Coutinho in the form of the 5ft 3ins dynamo.

Alan has a £44m buy-out clause but his contract runs out in 2019 so Madrid would expect to pay around half that fee because they would be taking him in the last 12 months of his deal.

Madrid has already raided South America for 17-year-old Vinicius who has stayed at Flamengo for this season but will arrive in Spain next summer.

He is not at the Under 17 World Cup in India because his club denied him permission to play and Alan is shining in his place.

Madrid’s plan is that the two Brazilian join forces next summer.

The 18-year-old Norwegian Martin Odegaard and the 19-year-old Federico Valverde, who are currently on loan at Heerenveen and Deportivo respectively, could also both return as Madrid look to build a team that will see them into their post-Cristiano era.
