Saturday was started with the opening ceremony of the raising of the national flags and the playing of the national anthems, then on to a shotgun start for the pairs betterballs, these games were played in beautiful sunshine and no wind, although the games were mostly close fought it was the Spanish team who took a commanding lead at the end of day one by 15 points to 6, however the highlight of the day fell to the U.K. team when Dave Wilson holed in one on the 17th hole to give his pairing a well deserved win.

ryddrpresentationThe U.K. captain once again had to present the trophy to the captain of the Spanish team Pepin Liria and the disappointment was overridden by the great weekend enjoyed by all the players and played in the true spirit of golf with many friendships made.

A mention of gratitude to J.J. Serrano and his staff for preparing a great golf course and the after match Paella and drinks.

Roll on next year and perhaps our turn to win!!
